Coming up for air, finally

About a week ago I reported that I was busy beyond "all belief", and up till ... oh, about 1/2 hour ago, that was true. There probably will still be days I can't even afford to sleep, but for the next few days things will be almost back to normal.

I have an extensive backlog of stuff I have (really and truly, I have!) been working on, nearly ready to post. I have several pages (I think) to add to the How to Design Houses section of the web site, as well as some new house designs (at least one, anyway). These days it takes a lot of time to complete a house design, since I am trying to go well beyond 4 walls and a roof. I've been doing a lot of interior detailing, and while not terribly difficult, it is extremely time-consuming and tedious. But, the final product is eminently worth the extra effort. Methinks so, anyway.

On a different subject, I have more installments to post of "My Soul Up There", which I know (from my web site stats) that some are actually reading. My thinking here is that if you've downloaded anything beyond chapters 1 & 2, then you are actually reading it. OK, good. For me it's a compelling story when I read it. Perhaps this makes me "unusual", but I'm not just beating my chest or whinging for compliments. I sometimes go back and (re)read what I've written (well, I do it every time I go back to writing), and I am amazed by it (the writing). I do like it, and it's gratifying if someone else thinks so, too.

Read it, don't read it. Like it, hate it, don't care about it. It doesn't matter. If you think it's too much about some things and not enough about others, then that's my fault, but it was the story I chose to tell. Or blame my characters, if you can see it that way, because they're the ones writing it.

OK, that's enough about that. Maybe by this weekend I can get some new content posted to the web site. And I know that will make us all feel a lot better. I'll feel better, anyway.

Busy beyond all belief

I haven't done much posting lately, either here or to my website. Truth of it: I'm so busy I don't have time for much beyond work, sleep, and eat. Work is the culprit, and that's just because we are in the critical build phase of the project, and I have a great deal of "critical building" to do, right now.

In case you didn't know or haven't guessed, I am a professional software developer/architect. In some other companies I would be a senior software engineer or perhaps a senior software architect. Where I am, I am considered an architect, though the "senior" aspect of it has eluded me, so far.

So here I am on a Sunday morning, sitting in my office at home, and working on work stuff. While I was catching up on the latest news, and etc., I decided to post a short missive to my blog just to let folks know I haven't died or become (too) jaded. I really want to make more progress on the "How to Design Houses" section, as well as start posting some progress on the "real" house design I'm working on. I also have about 3 house designs in the final phases. (I'm not sure of the count, exactly ... it's been so long ... but I'm sure I have a design or two almost ready for publishing.)

So much to do, so little time. And this time, it's really true, too.
