This house design "series" has grown, again. Now we have 6 houses presented for your approval. But, not to worry, if you take a look at the Works in Progress page, you will see that there are others on the way.
I do not do designs in a serial fashion. Life is a journey of exploration and learning; we never know exactly where it will take us. Today's insurmountable "problem" becomes tomorrow's no-brainer. So, when I get stuck or run out of ideas, I simply move off in another direction, coming around eventually.
So much for the philosophy lesson.
This is a particularly nice narrow lot house design. I like the floor plan, though the room layout of the first floor is somewhat unusual. There was a distinct temptation to make this into a Country Home, especially since the design is about 2,600 sq. ft., but I decided to keep the design a little less embellished, and more like what you might find in a typical subdivision (even if it is somewhat larger than average).
This design laid dormant for more than a year, before I gained the inspiration to finish it. So, now it's finished.
I worked on this house design for a relatively long time. This house is composed of two rectangular masses (almost square) connected by a narrow central corridor. A dumbbell shape, if you know what I mean. I like the arrangement and the layout, and I hope you will, too.
This house design was done in a day. Literally. It is also the basis for house we're designing in the How To Design Houses section, though that house will not be identical to this one. There is no sense in duplicating ourselves, is there?
This is a rather small house, very similar (at least from the outside) to a common house design seen in some neighborhoods where I live. I liked how it looked, so I decided to model it. I'm pretty sure the interior is not at all the same, but that doesn't matter, particularly.
I also decided not to spend a lot of time "decorating" the design exterior, with bushes, flowers, trees, and the like. At this juncture, I'd much rather get something posted.
This simple, small house design still has some nice features in it.
