Here is a Pacific Northwest-inspired design. The house is a modified T-shape, with the living room (on the left end in the image below) at the foot of the T, the kitchen in the back at the top left of the T's crossbar, and the garage (at the right in the image below) at the top right of the T's crossbar. An angled glass wall fills in next to the kitchen.
Some have asked if that's me sitting on the dock. No, it's not. He's just some generic guy. However, I probably wouldn't mind having a house such as this.
Some things worth noting:
On the second floor (below), you might want to note the following:

The lower level is below. Note the large recreation area, full bath and laundry. Initial versions had the laundry upstairs next to the garage, but I decided to move it to the basement.

Here is the main front view (from above) at night.
From the garage side, this shows the garage (obviously), the side porch, and dining room. That's the side of the kitchen at the rear. Upstairs we have the master bedroom balcony (over the garage), master bedroom, master bath, main upstairs bath, and back bedroom.
Same view as above, but at night.
From the left side rear, this shows the stairs down from the kitchen, at left. Also shown is the walk-out sliding glass doors to the rec. room, with kitchen above. You can also see the back deck and the arched French doors of the living room, at far right.
Same rear view at the one up at top, but at night.
Here is a view from across the small pond. This view shows the wall of windows fairly well.
Let's go inside. From inside the front door, we look toward the stairway and the breakfast nook (table and chairs at the right). The French doors lead to the back deck. The living room is to the left, just out of view.
This is the same view with slightly different lighting. I wasn't sure which one I liked better, so I showed them both.
Let's go to the living room next.
And here we are, inside the living room doorway. Note the exposed trusses. In this view I attempted to illuminate the room with the fire in the fireplace. Didn't work quite as well as I would have liked, but still not bad.
Yes, I placed a couple of lights at the base of the grate (after setting all materials to "no material", made the fire out of a bright yellow lighting material, and yellowed out the light color considerably.
And this is the same living room view with "regular" lighting. I don't know why the fireplace seems to be "glowing". I have had difficulties, lately, with some surfaces seeming to reflect light a bit too much.
From the corner, we look back toward the family room. That window at right is at the front of the house.
From the other corner, this shows the arched French doors leading to the back deck.
From the sofa in the family room (to the left of the front door), we look toward the French doors and stairway. Of course that's the kitchen beyond.
From in front of the French doors (see above), we look toward the front door.
Here we see the breakfast nook and part of the kitchen. Note the stairway and the wall of windows beyond.
From the vicinity of the kitchen island (where the cook top is) we look toward the nook and the family room beyond. See the cool mountains through the windows? I do.
This is a slightly different view of the breakfast nook, from a little farther away.
From in front of the window wall, we look toward the front door. The hall at left leads back to a bath (left side door) and the shop, with garage beyond. That's a closet at center.
Here is our first view of the kitchen.
Another kitchen view.
Final kitchen view, looking toward the stairway and breakfast nook.
And here is the dining room. Note the built-in cabinets at right.
From the short hall, this is the dining room.
Finally upstairs, this is the window wall. The door at left leads to the "large" west bedroom. The door just visible at right leads to the back bedroom.
Another view. That's a bedroom at center, and the main upstairs bath at right.
This is the back bedroom.
The window looks out the back, over the kitchen.
Upstairs bath, from the vicinity of the tub/shower.
Upstairs bath, showing the sinks.
Here we are in the large bedroom over the family room. I have this decorated for two boys.
Another view, from the opposite corner.
A final view, showing the beds. You can see the skylight "holes" a bit in this image.
Inside the master suite door (from the hall), we are in the master bath. That's the tub/shower at right, closet doors (on the curved wall) and the door to the master bedroom itself. The arched doorway into the sink area is at left.
Funky view looking downward at the large garden tub.
Here is a closer view of the sinks and the cabinetry there. The double doors lead to the master bedroom.
From the door to the master bedroom, we look back toward the hall door. The open door at center leads to the water closet.
Doors at left lead to the walk-in closet. Doors at center lead to the tub/shower.
Finally, this looks into the walk-in closet.
Master bedroom. Note the high cathedral ceiling. The arched French doors lead to the balcony.
Another view of the master bedroom, with slightly different lighting.
Final view of the master bedroom, showing the back light.
Before we go down to the basement to take a look at the rec. room, here is the shop.
Another view, from the vicinity of the side door.
Here we are at the bottom of the stairs. That's a bar area to our left, widescreen TV (obviously) at center, and pool table (see, there's lot's of room) in front of the sliding glass doors. As shown in the rear views, above, these doors open out onto the backyard.
We turn 90° to the right, and behold an alcove with rubber mat and weight lifting and aerobic exercise equipment. That's the laundry room with the doors open, at right. The closed door leads to a bathroom.
From in front of the bench press, we see the full layout of the basement. Comfy couch and surround sound stereo, of course!
Final view, showing the stairs and bar area.
