Country Home #3

This design began life as "Tract House #12", but sorta ... grew up. I do like the exterior finishing, with the white bands defining the floors, and the sunbursts at the peaks of all the gables. As far as the basic shape goes, you will find similarities in Country Home #2 and Tract House #6A. It's a kind of dumbbell shape, with the center section containing mostly just the stairwell and the hall.

The design does not have a basement, and contains just over 1800 sq. ft. living space on the two floors. Besides that, it is a pretty nice design.

Here is the obligatory night shot.

This is from inside the front door. See that the second landing of the stairway does just clear the doorway into the dining room. No, it's not too short. In fact, it's over 7 feet high.

And here is the living room, and the planter/hearth feature. I added the soffit at the ceiling and the columns to help define the space. The effect looks pretty good, but I will say that constructing the planter was way more effort than I originally thought!

Here is from the other corner of the living room, where the easy chair is located.

Here is the view from the far corner of the family room.

Now we walk into the dining room and look toward the kitchen.

Here we in the kitchen, looking back toward the dining room.

From the laundry room doorway, this shows the bay window in the kitchen.

From the vicinity of the small table, we look toward the laundry room. Of course, the door leads out onto a small concrete patio.

Now, we go upstairs, and see what things look like from the second landing.

I wanted this to show the skylight in the stairwell.

We walk into the master bedroom, and this is what we see from the doorway.

Here we are in the far corner, looking back toward the door. Note the plant ledge above the closet, complete with plants.

We walk into the master bath, and look toward the tub. Note the ceiling details as well as the high windows. There are also high windows in the tub area, as well.

And finally, we look back toward the other end of the master bath, and the small angled linen closet.
